Hi Friends and Neighbors,

As we begin the new campaign season, here's a quick update on what's been happening:
I continue to remain active in local committees and Holyoke activities while serving as the Executive Director for Auburn Visiting Nurse Association since 2006.

I have been paying close attention to Ward 5 issues. From proposed sewer fees, to proposed zoning changes, to ongoing City Council meetings, I have kept up to date, participated in local meetings, assisted others to attend meetings and generally remained involved in our political process.

John, a U.S. Airforce veteran, currently works as an Air Traffic Controller for the Dept. of Defense. He was also a Fire Marshal and firefighter for many years.

Because I believe an informed public makes the best decisions, I continue to participate as Moderator for educational events at the Holyoke Community College Kittredge Center.
The annual Tax Abatement Workshop addresses how each resident is affected by the tax structure. Attendees find the program useful and I look forward to working with individuals throughout the ward and city to provide more public events like this.

On a personal note, John and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this August. We celebrated my Dad's 82nd birthday last December and happily, he is still golfing and partying at Hiram's down in sunny Florida! We also celebrated my father-in-law's 91st birthday in August.

I am especially pleased with the endorsement by the firefighters because John, who is an Air Traffic Controller at Westover Air Reserve Base, was a firefighter and Fire Marshal in Connecticut for over 20 years!

So between work, local events, and fun, you won't often hear me complain of boredom. But you know how it goes. If you want something done, ask a busy person! Yes, I have the time and energy to devote to this campaign. I look forward to visiting you to update myself on your current concerns and ideas.
